Welcome to CLT Remedy! How can we help you?

We’re brother and sister, pharmacists-by-trade, and our daily grind sometimes can be grueling and crazy all the same while dealing with the retail sector.  So, when we have a day off, we like to make sure that post-working real hard, we play even harder.

We like to eat. We like to drink.  We like to explore.  And, we also like this place we now call, ‘home’–Charlotte.

They say that pharmacists are the most accessible and trusted healthcare professionals–and we see all sorts of people asking us for advise ranging from needing help with their irregular bowels, to checking out their bumpy rash (which they will show us), to just needing someone to listen to them.  So, here at CLT Remedy, we hope to share with y’all some of our Queen City recommendations.  Whether you’re looking for your next meal, your next group activity, or your next day trip, you can be rest assured that what you’ll be reading is backed and recommended by two professional pharmacists!

Thanks for checking us out!

Manny NOT Pacquiao

Hey everyone, my sister said I MUST tell you guys about myself so here it is. My real name is Emmanuel, but since pharmacy school I’ve gone by Manny. My new found friends/classmates thought that Emmanuel was too long and too old sounding for someone in his 20’s and since then it has stuck.

I found myself in Charlotte shortly after graduating pharmacy school and currently work as an overnight pharmacist in the retail world pulling 7 days in a row. The reward for working so hard is having 7 days off, which allows me to enjoy everything that the Queen City has to offer!

The easiest way to describe what I enjoy doing on my days off is eat, drink, sleep, repeat. I would consider myself a fairly adventurous eater and would try anything at least once, but Asian and Italian cuisine are by far my favorites. Although I do enjoy the occasional local brew from any one of the city’s breweries, I am a cocktail guy and I’m excited that Charlotte is finally getting on board with the craft cocktail scene.

When I’m not eating or drinking, you can usually find me on the couch with my 4 year old husky named Herschel binge-watching something on Netflix. I listen to pretty much any genre of music except for country. However, if you glance at my current Spotify playlist you can be easily convinced that I’m still stuck in high school listening to 00s emo/pop punk. I enjoy the outdoors as long as its not too hot or there’s not too much pollen in the air, which is why the fall is by far my favorite season.

As the saying goes… that’s me in a nutshell! Hopefully you’ll enjoy following Kriska and I along on our CLT adventures!

Hello, y’all! Kriska here!

Hey, y’all!

As awkward and painful as these things can be, this is the obligatory intro post about myself.

I’m a 30-year old, wifey and a mom to two boys (a 2-yr old human and a 5-yr old pup), who enjoys great food and even greater company now as a CLT-transplant.  How original, huh?

Well, basic as it all sounds, I do like to work hard and play even harder with my little family and my small close group of friends and my brother in town.  My day job is a full-time retail pharmacy manager, so every free day I get is maximized with some sort of activity whether in town or by way of short trips.  I’m a little bit of everything: I enjoy the outdoors, but not too much heat or mosquitos.  I LOVE sports, especially Gamecock football and even enjoy a day out in the golf course.  I am an endless pit and could eat my weight through brunch and a mimosa bar.  I enjoy all sorts of cuisines and not at all picky–unless you’re my husband asking me what I want to eat after a long day at work and he is actually talking to “Hangry” me.  I listen to all kinds of music, including ‘country’ and enjoy a great binge-fest or an all-day marathon on Food Network, Bravo, or HGTV!  And speaking of HGTV, my dream life is living in a yurt or a tiny home somewhere in Maui.

Basically, I love a great party but I’m also a mother and a professional who adults appropriately.

So, yes. I’m all over the place–somewhat unique, somewhat basic as all get out.  (Just you wait until fall season!)  But hopefully, I’ll be bringing something different to the table than other Instabloggers, and you’ll enjoy following Manny and me along on our Queen City adventures!
