Hey Charlotte! Today kicks off this summer’s Queen’s Feast: Charlotte Restaurant Week and for $30 or $35, you can indulge in a 3-course meal and satiate your inner foodie wants! 126 restaurants all over Charlotte and neighboring cities like Belmont, Fort Mill, Gastonia, and Mooresville are whipping up their best tasting menus and opening up their dining room for all to feast like royals without having to drain your wallet!
We’ve been enjoying this week of celebrating our city’s gastronomic scene since we moved to Charlotte, and it’s been growing every year with more and more restaurants participating. With so many options, how do you narrow it down? Well, here are some of our picks from our past experiences:
Our top picks in the city: Essex Bar & Bistro, Vivace, and Upstream
Essex Bar & Bistro
Where to even start with this restaurant: The location? The space? The cocktails? The menu? A place so swanky, for a moment you might forget your in Charlotte and think you’re in L.A. or NYC! Our top picks: the kale and apple salad, the tuna poke tacos, and all the cocktails you can handle!
Vivace
Vivace is always a good idea, but at $35 for a 3-course meal, it’s a GREAT idea! Order the calamari and the pappardelle with Bolognese sauce—but really, you can’t go wrong with any of their options. Bonus: If you can snag a patio table, request it at check in to enjoy the city skyline.
Upstream
There are many dining options in the South Park area but Upstream stands out with their seafood and sushi menu. The decision to make reservations to Upstream will be easy but the real dilemma will be trying to narrow down your three courses with all the options on their menu!
Our picks outside of the city: Webb Custom Kitchen and Fish Market Bar and Grill
Webb Custom Kitchen
The food is not only fantastic but this unique restaurant that was once the original Webb Theatre, transforms you back to the golden age of the 1920s. While you enjoy your dinner with your company, the open kitchen, the old Western playing on the big screen, or the impressive bar also add to the entertainment experience in WCK.
Fish Market Bar and Grill
Tucked away in Baxter Village in Fort Mill, SC, Fish Market is serving up some excellent seafood (and steak, pasta, and sushi)! While that may sound as if their menu is all over the place, their food is very focused and fresh. If you ever wander too far south of I-77, stop by this little gem!
Other indulgences worth mentioning: The Melting Pot, Del Frisco’s, and Chima
The Melting Pot – Midtown
Fondue parties may be so ‘90s, but there’s something about dining with a group of friends and experiencing food together. Just make sure you wear your stretchy, forgiving pants because you’ll need it!
Del Frisco’s Double Eagle Steak House
The deal in itself is enough reason to try to snag a table at this steakhouse because you’ll never be able to even order a steak off their regular menu for just $35. At this prix fixe deal, go ahead and indulge on the supplements!
Chima Brazilian Steakhouse
This is now a good time to justify eating all the meats and all the Brazilian cheese bread your belly will allow you to consume!
Hope this helps you decide which restaurants to check out during this 10-day of feasting! We have our reservations through OpenTable all set and are going back to Essex, Vivace, and Upstream, but also checking out Primo Prime–we’ve never been! Have you been to any of these places or do you have other favorites? Share them with us via comments!
